Whim Architects Launch Kickstarter Campaign to Build Self-Sustaining Island Homes from Pacific Plastic Garbage
Dutch studio Whim Architects has unveiled plans for a floating, self-sustaining home that would respond to rising sea level—and they hope to construct the island residence from plastic waste currently circling in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The architects are raising funds with a newly launched Kickstarter campaign , and they’re reaching out to plastic recycling experts and professionals to test out their design.
