TreeHugger is no stranger to fancy new LEED platinum residences, but the fact remains that we must do something about our existing housing stock if we are ever going to get CO2 cuts on the scale needed. Luckily, people are exploring how to do just that.

Last weekend, at the heart of this year's Wanderlust Festival was Village Anusara, and in the heart of the village was John Friend, gathered with his disciples. John founded Anusara yoga thirteen years ago. He is a charismatic and popular teacher who blends philosophy, biomechanics, and humor. He has an enigmatic duality: he can come across as goofy but serious and brainy but heartfelt.

Domestic compost bins come in many shapes and sizes, for indoor and outdoor use, tumbling or not, to help you turn organic waste into delicious hummus for garden and pot plants. However, if until now you haven't come across your desired shape or size, check out the Combox.

Michael Pollan says that if you eat a typical American diet, you are made of corn. Dale Allen Pfeiffer takes it one step further, and says We are Eating Fossil Fuels. (Actually, Jaymi points out that Michael Pollan says that too.)

But whenever one discusses the idea that buying local food saves fuel, the naysayers show up.
